I had the pleasure of discovering this identical twin sister duo last fall at a socially distanced outdoor concert. From the second their voices lifted together in memorizing harmony, I was hooked on Annie Oakley. The twins originally hail from Oklahoma, making the bold move to Northern Colorado during the pandemic which proves they are a force to be reckoned with.

I personally dub these women as “queens of live streaming” as they have had several live stream concerts since I began following them in September of 2020. The duo is using these concerts to promote their official debut album, Second Day of Spring, of which “Arms Length” is their first single.

“Arms Length” is a soft and simple tune tackling a large issue: mommy issues. Annie Oakley is very open about their struggles within different types of relationships and says “A lot of this album is rooted in healing from familial hurt.” Nonetheless, “Arms Length” is a beautiful reflection on loving someone from a distance that sets a great precedent for the album to come.

If you want examples of an artist using live streaming, give Annie Oakley a follow on Instagram (@theannieoakley). To learn more about implementing live streaming into your performance roster listen to episode two of Musicians Tip Jar and join our mailing list for more resources.
